Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer sliding scale rates?
I currently work part-time and therefore cannot offer sliding scale appointment slots at the moment. If finance poses a challenge, I would love to work with you to figure out something that meets us somewhere in between.
How long does each therapy session take? How long does it take until I see a result?
All sessions usually go for 50-55 minutes. Although my personal opinion is that therapy should be short-term and not lasting months or years (you still need to go back and practice what you've learned outside of therapy), you are definitely in charge of how long and how far you'd like to go with your counseling process. We will collaborate together to achieve your therapeutic goals.
Does online therapy (telehealth) work?
Telehealth has been proven to be quite effective, albeit with certain limitations, and it is not for everyone. I am happy to set up a 15-minute consultation video call so we can determine whether this is the right fit for you.
What do I need to participate in telehealth therapy?
In order for everything to go smoothly in session, you'll need:
* reliable internet
* a smart phone or computer
* a private space without possible interruptions or distractions (and earsdropping)
* headphones is HIGHLY recommended!
Do you take insurance?
I am accepting insurance plans under Anthem Blue Cross California, Blue Shield of California (except the ones that are managed by Magellan), Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, MHN, Kaiser Permanente (both Northen and Southern CA), Tricare West, Oxford, Oscar Health, non-California Blue Cross Blue Shield.
If your insurance is not listed here, and you have out-of-network (OON) benefits, I partner with Mentaya to help you get reimbursement up to 80% of your cash pay fee. Contact me for more information on this.
Will you ever have in-person therapy available?
I do not have a physical location for in-person sessions at the moment. That is definitely a possibility I love to establish in the future.
